Spoof BBC web site is unashamedly biased, but can you tell it from the real thing?

A new satirical web site, which lampoons BBC Scotland news coverage, has caused a mini online sensation with its 'unique' take on the Glasgow based broadcaster.

The site, called BBC Scotlandshire, was launched last week, with a single story entitled “Andy Murray must now become English, says Cameron”. Since then it has received thousands of visitors each day, becoming something of a phenomenon on Facebook and Twitter.

We are beginning to hear more in the media about shale gas as advances in technology and the rise in the cost of fossil fuels make the unconventional gas industry a more realistic prospect. The term 'unconventional gas' is taken to mean gas which is trapped inside rock formations which were historically too deep or too difficult to extract the gas economically.

One of the biggest dates in the Scottish sheep farming calendar is fast approaching.

The annual Kelso Tup Sales take place this coming Friday, 14th September, and are set to attract farmers and shepherds from all over Scotland, the north of England and beyond, to peruse and purchase from the 5000 or so tups catalogued to come under the hammer. In previous years tups have been bought at Kelso and exported to Germany, Holland and Eire.

This 2012 Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight kicks off today (Saturday 1st September) and, as the name suggests, runs for the next two weeks.
