Sorry- couldn't listen to the idiocy of Mr Rennie twice!
And have given up listening/watching the BBBC to protect my ulcer.

Why are we getting speeches from the opposition leaders disguised as questions? There is a ridiculous situation in the BBC summary where they found time to let us hear speech (sorry, the question) but not the answer. First Minister's Question Time needs to be revamped urgently..

Whereas previously FMQ's was followed by a 30 minute Foreign News program there may have been a reason for cutting off the FMQ's broadcast early to allow Flubber to add his woffle.

Now that Brillo's Vanity London Daily Politics has been extended to 60 minutes there is no reason whatsoever for terminating the FMQ's broadcast and going over to listen to Brillo going on about Westminster matters - we have 60 minutes of that for the other 4 days.

In fact apart from showing the full FMQ's we should have another 30 minutes of studio discussions and analysis of FMQ's just as Brillo has for PMQ's.

Such a discussion could knock on the head the current practice of all comment on FMQ's coming only from the BBC's tame stable of Unionist Lackeys.

While I am the first to agree that the BBC frequently shows bias, I thought the snippets of Nicola Sturgeon's answers were very strong. She made Rennie look like the *cough* (bad word filter) that he is and her response to Lamont was very telling. First she used the words INDEPENDENT SCOTLAND that Lamont said the SNP couldn't say and then listed the strengths of an independent Scotland which are what the SNP should concentrate on. Very well done and I can hardly criticise the BBC for showing these.

I watched the Welsh Assembly FMQs on the Parliament Channel this afternoon.

Seriously Johann, have a swatch at how real Political Party Leaders behave..........and take note of the fact that the Opposition Parties have enough respect for their parliament, not to treat it like a nursery playground!

Everyone asked their question and sat and waited (respectfully) for the (Labour) FMQ to answer.

I know Johann thinks she is the newest comedy turn in the Parliament, but can she not have a word, with herself and with all the tub-thumping backbenchers. It's like feeding time in the chimps enclosure........and nobody watching can fail to note the extremely low bar Labour have set for themselves, from the top down!

I'm still experiencing terrible Flash Player problems, so unable to access any video/audio content, and I'd hoped for a written summary of FMQs, other than BBC's Brian Taylor's ramblings.

bbc.co.uk/.../...

Why is he so ashamed to be a namesake of the most brilliant take on Christianity, colonialism, religious bigotry and nationalism? Is he, in the words of the mob, an individual? ("Yes, we're all individuals!") (The Finnish national broadcaster has taken to screening Life of Brian every Easter! Good on them!)

And what's with this Labour obsession with what the FM wears abroad? Trews seem like a good choice - let's be honest here, Alex Salmond's body shape doesn't lend it to stylish kilt-wearing - but Iain Gray and la Lamentable both have raised this sartorial issue at FMQs, duly reported by the loyal Life of...[don't insert my name here]. As if there weren't issues of more national importance.

Like I said, I haven't been able to watch FMQs live online for a couple of weeks, but when I have been able to watch it, and then later read the reporting (BBC/other MSM), I'm left gasping. Did they actually watch the same thing?

lumilumi Have you tried here..

scottish.parliament.uk/.../...

That site uses silverlight I think and may overcome your problems with flashplayer. I don't know that it will but .... well it's worth a try.

Apologies if you have already tried this.

Heeey, thanks, jafurn!

I never tried that as I had terrible silverlight problems a couple of years ago and just gave up. But now my silverlight seems to be working a dream while flashplayer is... well, just isn't. For some reason I'm unable to download and install the latest version, but not before the previous version went defunct.

But good to know that Holyrood's own output is available even to flashplayer-challenged people like me. Thanks.

I see that the Newsnet Comments thread has now been closed for comments. Fairly soon after my now vanished, non-subversive, constructive comment, which SS agrees with and refers to at 18:45, 23-06-2012.

I wonder if this comment will get published, or remain here very long.

Not a good way to go, NNS. This was supposed to be a site to give a voice to all those denied one in the MSM in Scotland.

The sooner the Scottish Government set up a unit to monitor coverage of FMQ's by the MSM the better.

Can't see what's keeping them.

Or do they think the BBC are doing more damage to themselves than harm to Independence.

Third win in the southern hemisphere ..
Samoa 16-17 Scotland

www.bbc.co.uk/.../18548414

Reported in about 6 words on BBC news before the presenter went on to chant England half a dozen times and then England another half dozen times .. and then report floods in Yorkshire .. they may have reported the flooding in Scotland news.stv.tv/.../... but if they did I missed it. .. but of course BBC news 24 is only news about England and Wales generally. . Seems like another subsidy from Scotland.
