First Minister and Scottish National Party leader Alex Salmond celebrated the life and legacy of Brian Adam MSP at Friday’s funeral service in Aberdeen.

Mr Salmond said:

Tenants and landlords in the private rented sector are to benefit from a new Tenant Information Pack (TIP) which will improve access to information on renting and help ensure that accommodation is good quality and well managed.

Launched by Minister for Housing and Welfare, Margaret Burgess, landlords have a legal duty to provide the TIP to new tenants.

Official statistics published today show that the value of retail sales in Scotland grew by 2.5 per cent over the last 12 months while the volume of retails sales rose by two per cent.

This is above the growth rate for Great Britain where the value of retail sales grew by two per cent annually and the volume of retail sales rose by 1.3 per cent over the past year.
